The Gelida Plenary 5 approves to suspend the initial approval process of the modification of the Partial Plan for the Can Juncoses sector (point 5). With Can Juncoses, there is little we can do to prevent it from moving forward if the developer wants to, because there is an unfavorable ruling against the City Council in this regard . The crisis has saved us from the industrial park being developed, but stopping it is very difficult. What we will do is ensure that if it happens, the companies that are there are beneficial for Gelida. And we will do the same with the Agroparc. After the Generalitat vetoed the first proposal from Ametller, they said they would reformulate it, but we still do not know what their intentions are. When we know, we will ensure that if something is done, it is to benefit Gelida .”

The Gelida City Council (with Lluís Valls -PSC- as Mayor) adopts the agreement for the initial approval of the Basic Urbanization Project of Can Joncoses, drafted by Xavier Frigola Mercader from the consulting firm Criteri (notice published in the BOPB, with the submission of the project to public information for a period of 20 days).

On May 13, 2008, theTerritorial Office of Environmental Assessment resolves “Determine that the partial urban planning plan for the Can Joncoses sector, in the municipality of Gelida, submitted by the City Council, does not need to undergo environmental assessment.”

In July 2007, the City Council of Gelida (with Lluís Valls -PSC- as Mayor) adopts the agreement ofinitial approval of the Partial Urban Planning Plan for the Can Joncoses Sector, drafted by architect Mònica Ferran Astica (notice published in the BOPB, with the plan submitted for public information for a period of one month).

November 200: the Department of Territorial Policy and Public Works of the Generalitat dismissed the appeal that the previous governing team of Gelida, from the PSC, CiU, and PP, had filed against the agreement of the Urban Planning Commission of the Generalitat, which rejected the reclassification of Can Juncoses. The previous governing team was in favor of converting Can Juncoses into an industrial park to promote the establishment of new companies in the municipality. ERC, on the other hand, opposed it outright due to the negative impact on the territory that, in their view, the development of this sector would have. As explained by the new municipal government of ERC and CiU at the time, through a press release, the notification of the negative resolution from the councilor refuted that the Generalitat had dismissed the appeal due to administrative silence “and shows a much clearer position from the Catalan government against the reclassification.” In the same press release, Mayor Miquel Carrillo (ERC) announced that the City Council would not file a contentious appeal against the resolution of the Generalitat, which the promoter of the industrial park [SEVINIA, SA.] did.
