Obres a Can Juncoses (Gelida)

To explain the inexplicable, we have published these articles:
Critical Alert in Gelida: The Urgent Duty of the Administration (and Why It Fails) and The precautionary measures have entered a dead end: the legal proceedings against the Agroparc will have to continue without this protection for the eagles of Gelida.

Manifesto addressed to the Wildlife Service, the Department of Territory (Biodiversity and Ecological Transition)and to the Director General of the Environment Marc Vilahur

We invite anyone and any organisation to spread this manifesto and join it throughthis form. More than 60 entities and 800 people have already done so!

We demand the urgent halt of the works that threaten the survival of the pair of Bonelli's Eagles in Gelida and the enforcement of wildlife protection laws throughout the territory

We present to you the "Agroparc" Ametller Origen

In this video, we explain that in dry farming land, the Ametller Origen project will install high-tech greenhouses, photovoltaic panels, partially underground industrial buildings, a biogas plant, and a water treatment facility. All of this combined with walking areas, tourist activities, and rural accommodations. This is the false Agroparc that they want to build between Gelida and Sant Llorenç d'Hortons in the Alt Penedès.

The project will affect everyone in some way, whether they are farmers, local residents, small businesses, hikers, cyclists, drivers,... It will affect your health (non-organic food, environmental pollution, light pollution,...), it will affect your work life (increased job insecurity, expulsion of independent farmers,...), in the impact on water, on species, and on nature in general.

That's why we say no, here are more details

In October 2021, together with the Gelida Town Council, the Ametller Group presented its new project in this municipality “ Agroparc Penedès ”. [ Agroparc planning advance ] [ Graphics ]

It was a reformulation and expansion of the project that was already presented in the year 2017 , against which we already raised our voice for the negative consequences it could have for our territory. At that time, it was shelved because Ametller did not have industrial land to implement all its activity. With the acquisition of Can Joncoses - agricultural land reclassified as developable land, but never developed - the project doubles, going from 121 ha to 258 ha.

With the new project initially approved in December 2022, the area increases to 322 ha, with greenhouses occupying 21 ha and the industrial estate 23 ha.

Although the Agroparc is intended to be presented as a “closed-loop”, virtuous and complete project, the reality is that it will involve the twisted application of territorial planning regulations to achieve the simultaneous implementation of a processed goods factory, a photovoltaic park, farms, and intensive crops in greenhouses on protected dry vineyard land, among other things. From StopAgroparc we reaffirm our opposition and clearly state that NO.

Why we say NO to the agroparc, essential points
