Budget, income and expenses for filing a contentious appeal to Stop the Agroparc
In April 2024 we closed the crowdfunding campaign through Goteo. It was a success. We raised 24,070 euros with direct contributions from 325 individuals and organisations.
More than a year has passed and we want to account for how we have managed this money.
Before going into detail, it is important to know that the judicial process has been stalled due to the Department of Territory. The aim of the Goteo campaign was to secure funding to carry out a contentious administrative appeal. That is, a legal process before the courts of justice to demand, through judicial means, the complete annulment of the urban planning plan approved by the Government of Catalonia, so that it becomes ineffective and, in the future, to be able to revert the undeveloped industrial area into a protected natural area.
The expenses that need to be addressed were budgeted in the campaign, with the following result:
- Legal advice and legal representation for the filing of a contentious administrative appeal, that is, a legal process before the courts of justice to stop, through judicial means, the approval of the Agroparc Ametller Origen. Budget: €15,000. Final cost: €14,400
- Fees of the person court representative. Essential requirement for the filing of any legal appeal. Budget: €700. Final cost: €665.50
- Drafting and submission of technical expert reports to substantiate the administrative contentious appeal before the courts, in the following areas: urban planning and ecological connectors. Budget: €5,000. Final cost: €6,368.71
- Campaign events that will be organised throughout the judicial process for information and fundraising. Budget: €1,500. Final cost: €0.
- Direct expenses of the crowdfunding campaign. Budget: €1,400. Final cost: €1,645.52
- Expenses for the rewards of the crowdfunding campaign: materials and expenses related to their distribution. Budget: €400. Final cost: €471.21
As of today, 12 June 2025, the total expenses have been €23,550.94
The contributions received amount to €25,845.00:
- Donations to Goteo: €24,070.00
- Direct donations €1,275.00
- Mònica Hill Award: €500
The result as of today is a positive balance of €2,294.06.
It should be taken into account that there are future expenses that we know we will have to incur and that are not accounted for, related to a new legal dispute regarding the execution of the works and the request for precautionary measures for the protection of the Bonelli's eagle.
